Better stock up on food if you're not vaxxed

Grocery store, picking up some canned soups and women said, "Better get a lot. Biden is going to make it a law that you have to show your vaccination card to buy food sometime soon."

"What", I replied.

"True, get all the can goods you can, rice and stuff that won't rot and stock-up." I noticed her shopping cart full of non-perishable . Cans, paper products, cereal and such.

I replied that I got my two shots, plus booster- smiled as much as an evil smile as I could muster and said,

"They're having a meat sale today , shame you can't stock up on that"

I've still got a dozen sitting in the closet from when I upgraded to halogen. Then I had a bunch of halogen from when I upgraded to smart LED but gave them to a friend. I've got a couple of spare LED's but thst's only because they were cheaper by the case.

My grocery store has security at the door to keep anti-maskers out (there are few). The Alberta Government tracks all the health records. They've got an app that generates a QR code of your vaccination status you krep on your phone or print out. Public eteries have another app that reads them.

Most people are still wearing masks.

Even before it became commonplace, no one ever said a word to me about mine.

People mind their own business here, and most are very polite.

I really feel bad for DUers who have all these horrid encounters. Glad I live where I live, despite it being red.

thank goodness i work in the kitchen. I live in MA in a relatively blue area... it is MA after all. But we get loud obnoxious anti-mask customers every week. I've heard the sheep baah, the, "Covid is a hoax", Vaccinations aren't safe, "I'll quit my job before i let them experiment on me!", and more! My co-workers at the deli counter and the cashiers have more stories than I... but, i can't stress this enough, it's CRAZY out there! People are itching for confrontation.

because the store was obviously understaffed and he had to wait in line for a little while to check out. I thought, "No, idiot, the retail workers are finally getting better offers, plus they're so sick of dealing with obnoxious assholes like you, they'd rather do anything else." Everyone ignored him and eventually he shut up.

Somewhere around here on DEMOCRATIC Underground (!!!) is a thread calling for cancelling the apparently not-so unalienable right to life by denying hospital care to the unvaccinated, any overlap with Republican voters strictly coincidental.
