This contest was really fun to watch! For a while, there was at least one instance of two photos being tied, but that resolved! Spectacular work from these finalists. Even I had trouble choosing, but along with so many of you voters, I did finally decide.
So, without further ado, here are the top three photos:
First Place: Harvest time by urbanhermit
Second Place:
Nature's Palette also by urbanhermit
Third Place:
Looking through the colors....by Heartstrings
Thanks to all the entrants and all the members who voted!

Two of my favorites made the top three. This was a great contest, it was hard to choose.
EDIT: I hadn"t realized that Urbanhermit took the top two spots. Bravo!!! Also, congrats to Heartstrings who also won two months ago.
We truly have some great photographers here.

(3,179 posts)It got my vote in the finals. It's just perfect. My second choice would have been Heartstring's shot of the red leaves and the lake, Looking Through The Colors.

(752 posts)Your photo reminded me of the end of summer in mid-Michigan where I spent my teen years.

(3,179 posts)I thought long and hard between that photo and Natures's Palette. The backlit red leaves are stunning, and the little sunburst just adds to it. It also reminded me of my summers and autumns growing up around Wisconsin lakes. Doesn't every lake have a raft like that for swimming?
