If you think it's "political" that's your fault, not those investigating. Coups are political by nature and investigating them tends to shed light on the political party that was involved. Your side made it political when it tried to force its political will on the rest of us.
If you don't like investigations showing your party was involved in a coup, blame those in your party that attempted the coup. In the meantime, STFU and stop blaming the investigation committee for something your side created.
Thank you. End of rant.

(54,476 posts)The coup attempt was a commission of a crime for political ends.
The investigation of it is purely pursuit of criminal activity. The two should not be confused.

(21,478 posts)not just the ones who were directly involved with the coup were complicit, are culpable. Only a few GQPers voted to hold Trump accountable, the rest of them are traitors.

(6,236 posts)Any Republican who voted against, or in any way blocked or hindered, the Jan. 6th investigation is complicit.
Any Republican who downplayed the insurrection, and/or accused the Democrats of partisan politics is complicit.
Any Republican who never spoke out against the Jan. 6th insurrection is complicit.
Any Republican who supports the Stop the Steal lie is complicit.
Any Republican who never spoke out against the Jan. 6th insurrection, and/or the Stop the Steal lie is complicit.
Any Republican who is working to steal the next election through anti-voting laws at the state level, or blocking voting legislation at the Federal level is complicit.
Any Republican that still supports TFG is complicit.
That only leaves a handful of Republican in the Congress, and precious few at the state level, who are NOT complicit.
It's obvious that the Republican Party has become a criminal enterprise that is dedicated to the overthrow of the Republic.

Thanksgiving I left my friends house early because of talk like this. No matter how hard Ive tried to open their eyes it just becomes an act of futility

(38,597 posts)It pretty much started the day TFG announced his candidacy for the presidency. And of course any attack on the U.S. Government deserves an investigation.
But if the GOP had worries about the politics of congressional investigations, they didn't seem too concerned about it after the Benghazi attack. Ten investigations costing U.S. taxpayers more than $7 million.

Why would the republicans not want an investigation?
Who was in the Jan 06 insurrection/riot smearing poop on the walls of Congress, attacking police, seeking Mike Pence for execution, and vandalizing the Capitol Bldg?
The ONLY proof you need that Antifa had nothing to do with January 6th is the Republicans' refusal to form a commission to investigate it.
