It just seems there’s more to this story.

(96,261 posts)I think Biden had a withering affect on her antics for attention. She needs to be voted out next election she's up for it.

(67,106 posts)Right she should be lining up a new job.
This one is going to go bye bye.

(48,965 posts)hardcore (perhaps even more than Manchin) refusal to budge at ALL on the filibuster. She actually wants a 60 vote threshold for all Senate business, ffs.

(28,063 posts)Because he sure isn’t hiding wanting to leave it as it is. He has been incredibly straightforward about that.

(12,612 posts)He has said he supports it but isn’t interested in changing the filibuster. That’s contradictory.

(28,063 posts)People have supported legislation that doesn’t have enough support to pass for centuries. They don’t suddenly “not support” something just because they’re unwilling to change the rules in order to pass it.
How much does Manchin actually support voting rights, if he has the ability to do something to get voting rights passed, yet refuses? This is one important reason why plutocracy and democracy can’t coexist.

(4,131 posts)It seems strange he'd be trying to cover for a position he's already publicly taken.
dlk
(12,612 posts)It doesn’t have to be all or nothing. Manchin recently agreed to a filibuster change for the budget. Apparently, he’ll negotiate in bad faith over voting rights, too.
