Manchin says he knew all along that he would "never" back BBB

Manchin told Metronews Talkline radio host Hoppy Kercheval that he knew from the beginning he could never support the social safety net package. Because all Republicans uniformly oppose it, Democrats needed every one of their senators to support the bill under the budget reconciliation process, but they’ve never gotten commitments from Manchin or Sen. Kyrsten Sinema of Arizona.

“This is a 50-50 Senate. You all are approaching legislation as if you had 55 or 60 senators or Democrats, and you can do whatever you want. Well, you know what? We're all a little bit diverse. I said I'm not a Washington Democrat,” Manchin said.

Worse, he refused to step up and answer this moment in history, when 81 million Americans said no to Trumpism and yes to providing this nation with the transformative governance it so desperately needs.

Sure, Manchin's defenders will proclaim how we should rejoice that his mere breathing enables Biden to get federal judicial nominees confirmed. And while that is indeed important, passing BBB and legislation to defend free and fair elections will directly affect the daily lives of far more Americans than raising a slate of judges to the bench ever will. But Manchin, ever the coal baron, has firmly declared his interests to be above the interests of the American serfs.

What a small man. What a selfish, mendacious, vindictive small man.

Our party is full of decent, honest, hard working leaders focused on helping people. Manchin doesn't deserve to be in the same room with them.

Bernie: No infrastructure bill should pass without a $3.5 trillion reconciliation bill. That is the agreement that was made & that is the agreement that must be kept. Physical infrastructure is important, but the needs of working families & combating climate change is more important.

Manchin gets re-elected in West Virginia because he owns the libs better than any Republican senator could. He leads them on, gets their hopes up, moves the goalposts, zig zags down the field like a dervish tight end refusing good to be pinned — he drives the Democrats nuts and his voters love him for it. It’s way more fun than just honestly voting no. Manchin harms Democrats more as a pseudo-Democrat than he would as a straightforward Republican.

But all the while HE was 'negotiating in bad faith' himself, on a bill he NEVER intended to support regardless. Then to top it all off, HE went on Fox News the week before Christmas to proclaim he was a hard 'NO' on the bill. THAT is what I would call 'playing games'.

Manchin WASTED a YEAR of Biden admins and congressional Dems' time, negotiating in bad faith, stringing them along, then goes on Fox Christmas week grandstand his 'NO' vote on the bill, and we subsequently find out what we figured all along: that he NEVER intended to support it to start with.

Manchin is a rat, a hypocrite, a self-serving REPUBLICAN (I don't care what letter he puts behind his name) JACKASS.

HE was the one 'negotiating in bad faith'.

HE is the one PLAYING GAMES. HIM. Not Biden, Biden admin or other congressional Dems. MANCHIN (and his little sidekick Sinema).

ALERT on this post, go ahead. I'm SICK of Manchin. Someone who does NOT support voting rights, Build Back Better (ie: the entire Democratic agenda), his own party, his own constituents, his own President or his own country, is NOT. A. DEMOCRAT.

NOT.
