'Spider-Man: No Way Home' was the second-biggest box office opening ever

https://www.cnn.com/2021/12/20/media/spider-man-no-way-home-box-office/index.html

New York (CNN Business)Spider-Man made even more money than originally projected.

"Spider-Man: No Way Home," the latest movie in the Marvel series, notched a record-breaking opening weekend at the domestic box office by bringing in $260 million, Sony said Monday.

That's up from Sunday's projections of $253 million, and it's remarkable in a pandemic. "No Way Home" has swung past "Avengers: Infinity War" — which opened to $257 million in 2018, according to Comscore (SCOR) — to become the second highest opening weekend in box office history.

Only 2019's "Avengers: Endgame," one of the biggest blockbusters of all time, opened to larger numbers.

Dummy irresponsible idiots who risk their lives to see a movie inside no less. Oh well. No pity here when we see even more sickness and deaths.

I went. I'm triple vaxed. I found a showing where I got a seat where nobody was closer than 20 feet. I wore an NK95 mask.

I'm a huge Marvel fan for decades before the MCU existed. I wasn't going to wait for this to come out on Disney. I took precautions.

I picked a time when it wasn't crowded and I could get the seat I wanted.

My problem is with your statement that everyone going isn't careful. That just isn't true.

filming movies... people will keep going to see.

I can't wait to see Alec Baldwin's Rust to see if it was worth it.

Probably an earlier show to thin things out. Also have tickets to a play on Sunday. Wonder if that'll keep.

I couldn't fathom the weekend. But hopefully weekday should be ok. I hear it's really, really, really good.

We've spent well over a year being bombarded with evil people doing evil things. For once, we can collectively enjoy and celebrate someone doing good, even if it's just fiction.

Considering that Coppola and Scorsese made names for themselves with movies that glorify evil people, it's obvious that people like them don't get it.

If you can find a less crowded showing, have at it. Worth every penny of the ticket price.

not everyone going to this movie (or any movie) is a dumbass and putting themselves in danger. It can be done safely.
