Debate: 59.2 million saw Mitt sweating

Debate Ratings: 59.2 Million Tuned Into Foreign Policy Debate

There was a significant drop in audience between the second and third presidential debates, according to numbers released by Nielsen Tuesday. Around 59.2 million people watched Monday night's foreign policy-focused debate on TV, down from 65.6 million who tuned into the townhall debate at Hofstra University, which focused more on domestic issues.

More Americans watched Monday's debate than watched the third presidential debate four years ago. In 2008, 56.5 million tuned in to the final debate between Barack Obama and John McCain. Nielsen ratings do not include CSPAN or online viewers, but do include the broadcast networks plus Telemundo, Univision, Current TV and the cable news networks.

Most just sit around waiting to be told what to think by the MSM. It's the only reason Rmoney is even remotely close.

I think, that since the fundies and repigs made such a squawk about "th librul media," people have come to their own conclusions. After all, since FOX is on lots of televisions at public places, they must be paying for the teevee to be on Fox. I can say this because I was told, at a gay bar (sinful!!!) I go to maybe twice a year, that the contract with the TV provider specified that it had to be on Fox if it was on. They have several other monitors, with different networks or videos (no porn, for you dirty people, just maybe music vids or Logo, etc).

I have gone to several restaurants over the last 5-6 years which had Fox Noise on. I always ask them to change channels or turn it off. When they refuse, I get up and leave. I've heard several times, "sorry, but it's in our contract."

So that's where they get most of their ratings, based on teevees tuned in. That, and from the ~20% that consists of sociopaths, rednecks, losers, racists (redundant) and others needing to blame someone, anyone else for their failures.

I thought viewership would be way down due to sporting events.
