They don't care if they are doing better or not. They think Biden is also fascist.

They also think they are losing their White Privilege Cards. That scares them shitless.

They feel all of that would be different if they "won".

But they are also turning against tRump over his support of vaccines (but not mandates). DeathSentence's name is frequently mentioned.

Omicron is spreading through vaccinated and unvaccinated alike. My 72 year old uncle, vaccinated and boosted was admitted to the hospital tonight, 24 hours after first showing symptoms and a positive test this morning.

not much you can do to ever "make it better" when someone thinks you ruined their family Christmas.

190 flights, maybe 200 people per flight? That's about 38,000 Christmases disrupted.

28 days is the minium to start talking about lethality - and it was identfied fewer than 28 days ago.

It's not just the unvaccinated. It's ALSO the vaccinated who aren't wearing masks, who are ignoring symptoms that seem like colds, allergies or a headache (because of the myth that breakthrough cases are rare), and who are eating indoors with people they don't live with, who have to go out to finish shopping (even though they have symptoms), who have to take their exams (and take a rapid test after exposing their peers), etc.

There are probably at least as many people coming into contact with the virus on city transit as on airplanes. People are often packed onto city trains, trolleys, buses, etc. Some cities might require some distancing, but as transmissible as Omicron is, I doubt that distancing makes a lot of difference. I just don't understand these people who won't get vaccinated, yet are willing to get on public transportation. It's like a sort of death wish.

Was curious and looked it up, NYC Subway actually had more passengers than all of domestic air travel:

12/22/2021
Subway: 2,635,760
Air travel: 2,081,297

The number of people packed into that relatively small area boggles my mind. I've never been to NYC, but I hope to visit one day. I wonder what the figures are for all public transit in the U.S. It seems to me that it will be hard to avoid catching Omicron, considering how transmissible it is. It's going to spread in the larger cities like wildfire. Looks like everybody is going to get some strain of Covid eventually.

back on Christmas Eve. I did not think it was a good idea once the numbers started increasing. However, I hated to cancel because we promised our son months ago. However, I think everything happens for a reason. I’m very relieved and now getting under my covid rock again. I’m staying home. I hope cases decrease some before our son returns to campus in a few weeks.
