Michigan woman won't be charged for outing anti-mask nurses on TwitterA conservative sheriff in Michigan who wanted charges to be filed against a Howell woman for calling out anti-maskers on Twitter won’t get his way.
Kasey Helton said the Livingston County Prosecutor’s Office alerted her Tuesday evening that she won’t be charged, saving the county sheriff’s office from a potentially embarrassing lawsuit. “This investigation, brought on behalf of the local Sheriff Mike Murphy — a vocal Trump supporter and who has previously refused to enforce @GovWhitmer mask mandate — represents a clear and punitive attack on my #1A rights guaranteed in the #Constitution,” Helton tweeted. In a series of tweets earlier this month, Helton took aim at anti-mask nurses who spread misinformation about COVID-19 and the effectiveness of face coverings at local board meetings. In one of the tweets, Helton pointed out that one of the self-described registered nurses, who insisted masks collect “poop” and other bacteria, appears to work at St. Joseph Health. At a Brighton Board of Education meeting, the woman said she’s “absolutely, unequivocally, 100% against masking our kids.” https://www.metrotimes.com/news-hits/archives/2021/12/29/michigan-woman-wont-be-charged-for-outing-anti-mask-nurses-on-twitter Link to tweet Original thread starts here: Link to tweet

2. good news. now investigate the sheriff
This was a blatant and disgraceful case. It wasn't even like Ms. Helton surreptitiously recorded them in a private conversation at work of their homes. These nurses made these comments at a PUBLIC HEARING. So to act like a wrong has been done to them by publicizing what they have already chosen to say publicly, is terrible.
The sheriff targeted Ms. Helton for purely politically reasons because of his association with drumpf, and if he has done it to Ms. Helton, how many other victims are out there? How many other persons have been harassed or even imprisoned on nonsense charges? Time to go after the sheriff................ review every case. |

3. The nurse needs to be fired
and the sheriff needs to be sued into oblivion, despite the DA dropping the charge.

9. Her comments are public record. And voluntary.
No grounds for a suit. No laws were broken by the reporter.
