And when you finally got a job you had to put up with all the sexism, misogyny and predatory behavior that was completely acceptable in those days. And before title nine girls sports more than an afterthought

and remained on the Welk show until it ended (and so has been featured on PBS from time to time into the 2000's)

He really was a giant of tap dancing, and a fine human being as well.

I believe he also did a guest appearance on that show that Dick Van Dyke did about a doctor/detective-on-the-side with - was it his son? or his brother? I forget - but Arthur and Dick danced together in that episode, IIRC.
