I watched DLU

I loved it. But one thing had me scratching my head and maybe someone can help explain.

In one of the first scenes with the president in the Oval Office a picture of Bill and Hillary were on the credenza beside or behind the resolute desk. It was s small personal picture not a portrait.

I don’t understand it.

The President is a trumpish character and trump was friends with the Clintons back in the day - that’s my guess

"Each, to his zone." (You would have to have been born before zip codes to understand the reference).

As satire, it was poorly done.

It's hip and cool to think that Democrats and Republicans are the same. Was watching "Maid in Manhattan" on Netflix today and the politician asks the maid's son if he's a Democrat or Republican and the answer was, "What's the difference?" Ha ha ha, oh isn't that so cute and funny.

I guess it makes people think they're really smart.

It makes me angry to hear that statement. If they don't know the difference between repugs and Democrats, go watch the video of Jan 6th.

It's a weed of stupidity that springs from a grain of truth (that politics is inherently steeped in corruption), spread by lazy fools who won't do the homework but still want to sound clever. No party is above criticism, but "both sides bad" is just absolutist horseshit that only helps the genuinely bad.

the targets into a false sense of security so they stay with the movie that is lampooning them.

But I doubt that was the purpose of it. I think it's more likely what others are saying: a both sides thing.

often turned to by Hollywood as a foolproof way to enhance their box office. Loved it, even though it wasn't funny or well made, simply because I was expected to love it.

Oh, for those of you who aren't hip to the coolness of abbreviating everything, the full title of the movie is Space Balls.
