Eldest Trump children won't comply with subpoenas from New York attorney general

Donald Trump Jr. and Ivanka Trump are now respondents in the civil case.

Former President Trump’s eldest son and daughter have refused to comply with subpoenas issued by the New York State attorney general’s office as it conducts a civil investigation into the way the family real estate business valued its holdings.

“A dispute has arisen between the OAG and the Individual Trump Parties regarding the Subpoenas,” a document filed Monday said.

The document, filed jointly by New York Attorney General Letitia James and an attorney for the Trump Organization, said Donald Trump Jr. and Ivanka Trump will now be named as respondents in James’ ongoing inquiry, which parallels a criminal investigation by the Manhattan District Attorney’s office.

And D.A. Bragg already did the Trump Family's charity in. He needs James to move asap on the disobedience of subpoena law in NY Civil Cases.

But they are up to something. Don't forget - the Trumps are the Trumps.

It's also a Civil Law Suit. The information obtained would be necessary for D.A. Bragg's team to complete their work - which in NY State has a statute of limitations of 5 years.

Also - Bragg is the attorney who got the Trump charity shut down - so there's that. Meg Reiss is his Deputy, and per Bragg himself:

"deep expertise in white collar enforcement, including having led investigations of major financial institutions concerning violations of key areas of enforcement for Manhattan, including money laundering, antitrust and securities.”

My opinion - all of these cases intertwine. They have dependencies on and feed into each other. My concern is the Criminal Investigation with teeth - Bragg's.

ETA - NY Law on Disobedience Subpoena. 90 day intervals.

1. Tish already got the dumb Trump, Eric, to testify. I'm guessing that Ivanka's and Jr.'s testimony better match.
2. Wasn't it Vance who brought on the tough as nails financial prosecutor, Pomerance (sp) he has quite the reputation.

Would be nice to get someone like Weisselberg to flip.

OK

3. In the civil case Tish doesn't have to prove intent, a much lower bar than the criminal case.

The Committee has no jurisdiction in state affairs. I'm sure Letitia James will respond to the Trumps' games appropriately.

Something they can just accept or refuse? I wonder if the Trumpkins noticed there was no RSVP on the bottom of the subpoena.

17. New York attorney general asks court to enforce subpoenas of Trump children in tax fraud probe

This will be fun to watch

New York Attorney General Letitia James has subpoenaed Ivanka Trump and Donald Trump Jr. as part of her civil tax fraud investigation into the Trump Organization, court filings made public Monday reveal.

James's office "recently" filed subpoenas seeking testimony and documents from former President Donald Trump's children "in connection with an investigation into the valuation of properties owned or controlled by Donald J. Trump or the Trump Organization,” according to a New York Supreme Court order unsealed Monday and first reported by The New York Times.

James is also seeking to depose the former president as part of the probe. Trump has called James' investigation "corrupt" and a "witch hunt." The filing shows that Trump and his children are all challenging the subpoenas.

The judge signed off on a Dec. 30 stipulation which will allow the Trumps to file a motion to quash the subpoenas and for the attorney general to respond with a timetable for the judge to review the filings.
