He has three hour interviews with Elon Musk, Bernie Sanders, Bill Maher,Sanjay Gupta, Paul Stamets, Edward Snowden, Neil deGradse Tyson, etc even Beeple -plus many scientists and philosophers, lots and lots of comics as he is also a stand up comedian, lots of guy stuff about hunting for eating only, diet, body building, boxing. Virtually- hundreds of 3 hr in-depth interviews. You have him wrong - he is never cruel, never is mean, doesn’t yell, or put down anyone -He basically one of the most curious people in media. Who else in media does 3 hr interviews?

He does interview both Dems and Republicans and promotes some kind of unity between the parties and the world. At least that’s what he keeps saying and he comes off as an honest, curious guy. The other day he said the money he is making has become obscene - he has to seriously look into the best charities to donate to.

...response, but the internet seems to be better at accessing the worst in people. There's new stuff going on here, or at least a new scale of the old stuff, that wasn't present back in the 1960s.

I'm not sure how much you can dumb down/dopamine up the Democratic message without losing most of its value. I'm beginning to be afraid that our population is simply too undereducated when it comes critical thinking skills, and it might be too late to fix that before things fall apart badly.

Yes, he believes and professes kooky theories. But he's also extremely liberal on a number of issues. He gives air time to nuts and right wingers, but also gave 3 hours to Bernie Sanders.

He's a pseudo intellectual in that he's fairly well read for someone of his background, but he seemingly lacks the critical thinking skills to make sense of all he takes in.

People here hate him, I don't, but I do think on some issues he's dangerous. He's a Right Wing nut on things like Covid, Cancel Culture, taxes, and Hillary conspiracy theories. He's left wing on labor, the war on drugs, and some other issues.

I think he doesn't feel he has a responsibility for what he airs, he doesn't get that giving a platform to neo Nazis is harmful and dangerous. He thinks just saying "hear all sides" exempts him from any and all decency and responsibility.

Tue Jan 4, 2022, 11:45 AM

A ton of his shows, maybe even the majority used to have zero to do with politics or political issues. He'll spend 3 hours talking to a guy who survived in the wilderness, or talk to some animal expert about which animals are the toughest. Or he'll talk to sports figures, or experts in science or drugs. Or he'll talk to someone about hunting. Those conversations are entertaining, but I think now he's getting ratings more from purely political topics.

He's a provocateur to some extent, but he's also irresponsible in other ways. He plays bother siderism too much. He'll rip Trump for being anti Democracy and basically evil, but then say that's still preferable to Joe Biden because Joe Biden is old.

He's a fairly talented comedian, so he's funny to listen to, he's genuinely curious about the world and has some really interesting guests. But now he's chasing the money so he's getting more and more political as his ratings rise.

He had a Nobel Prize winning physicist on for 3 hours once and they just talked about the universe and particle physics, that was an amazing episode. But he has on ex military who talk Hillary Conspiracies too often. And he claims to be this victim of cancel culture while he's got a massive audience.

18. Rogan has a net worth in excess of $100M
Tue Jan 4, 2022, 11:58 AM
Jan 2022

If he's not getting the listeners they say, he's over paid.

He's a unique case, just a fairly interesting person who can tell a good story and knows a lot of interesting people. And his long interview format is really something. I mean, he'll have Mike Tyson on for 3 hours and they'll talk about everything from psychedelics, to boxing from the 90s, to being a parent. Joe Rogan is a great interviewer in that he gets guys to open up, but he rarely challenges his guests on any issue. And he's got a unique perspective on things, was a poor kid growing up in New Jersey, made his bones as a stand up comedian, and then made it to TV. Was always into martial arts so he became the voice of MMA for a generation. He also picked up some friends along the way who were genuine intellectuals and authors. He knows Hollywood, he knows hunting, he knows combat sports, he knows drug use, and he's got a million stories about each.

I think the best way to approach this is for prominent Dems and liberals to go on his show more often. I think the Democratic cause could really be helped if Nancy Pelosi went on his show, or even Joe Biden. I think if Black Lives matter and Civil rights leaders ent on his show it would help. Joe's listeners are a group that can be reached, they're a fairly open minded group, if Joe is made a pariah by the left, that group is only going to hear from his Right Wing guests.

He interviews both Dems and Republicans (more Dems) and says he has good friends from both parties and is doing his best to stop such division.

I disagree with you on his thinking skills. He is a very curious guy and asks guests hard questions - why he is so popular. His ratings are off the wall.

I never click on links he sends me unless it's a Blues guitarists or other musician.

He knows I never open his Covid conspiracy emails etc. Don't know if Rogan is one of those.

It's so sad, because my ex is an amazingly talented artist who is unfortunately too invested in exposing the "deep state".

It's hard for me to cut ties with him completely, although I have done so for long stretches of time throughout our lives.

He is a progressive Leftist. Ethnically Jewish. Very anti-fascists, very pro-democracy, anti-racists, (therefore anti-nationalists) etc.

Brilliant in every way, except stunningly fixated on any and all matters related to intelligence communities etc.

I wish he'd just concentrate and focus on his music for our remaining years on this planet.

For starters, this is a comparison of a podcast vs. TV shows aired only on US TV. The podcast can be downloaded worldwide. Rachel and Hannity's shows, not so much.

And, did y'all know that podcasts are often purchased in bulk in order to pad the podcaster's numbers, much like bulk book buys? I'd bet money that Rogan is padding his numbers. Also, how much of the Q3 numbers are people listening solely out of curiosity, but did not return in Q4?
