Some of the states that went for Biden showed an unusual voting pattern. Many of the votes either had no vote for President, a write in vote for a candidate not on the ballot, or a vote for Biden--but these same voters selected the Republican candidates down ballot.

In other words, many Republican voters voted against Trump.

The last election became a national referendum on Trump. He lost by a wide margin even among Republican voters.
