I just read an article wherein a conservative opined that, for Republicans, Donald Trump

had become the "model of masculinity".

AR-R-R-GH!

If that prissy hair-styling cowardly germaphobe is what they consider a "manly" role model, is it any wonder they can't get dates?

Just sayin'------

Overall, I find most republican men extremely unattractive and often downright repulsive. Giuliani, Bill Bar, Roger Stone, McConnell, Ted Cruz, John "No Relation" Kennedy, Creepy Rick Scott, Chris Christie, Mike Pompeo, etc. Trump is a perfect representation of republican men with makeup and dyed hair.

They are probably jealous because their Democratic counterparts got more dates in high school and they are still bitter. They didn't just hate Obama because he was black. They hated him because he was handsome, athletic, funny, and likable, as well as smart. All the things that their money can't buy.

When, in reality, they’re more like Don Knotts. (Not that there’s anything wrong with that)

There’s something so phony about every single one of them. Take TFG, for example…they claim he’s so strong, smart, and manly. In reality, he is none of those things. Also, if a person was looking to elect a strong, manly guy as their Senator, would McConnell, Graham, Cruz, or Hawley be a top choice? (I do not mean to impugn anyone’s lifestyle)

How do they get people to vote for them, being such obvious phonies and all? If their voters actually like them, why be so phony? Why not just be yourself? It’s so weird.

Granted, there are some shared traits that males of our species possess as a result of physiology and the concentration of certain hormones.

I am sure that some Conservatives react to Trump's false bravado and aggressiveness in language. He postures and acts like the approximation of what a "confident" and hyper-"masculine" person might be thought of in certain circles. To most rational observers however, he is more like those small "yappy dogs" that bark and growl because they scared shitless. His "playboy" lifestyle in the 80's and 90's also impresses some people who have a stilted view of what a "man" is. Trump had the resources, and I am sure a certain sleazy charm, which allowed him to either lure some women and obviously pay others to have sex with him.

Like I said, he is an approximation. He is a caricature of what a "man" in American Culture is supposed to be.

A group of incels preparing for a night on the town, hoping that at long last that a woman will talk to them.

They're getting all dolled up like their cult leader.

Hair: Orange toupee swept back in a hairstyle from the 19. . . hold on, that was never a hairstyle. In any case, orange toupee swept back.

Skin care: Hours on the tanning bed with the Dear Leader's chosen tanning cream to get that unique orange-y color, and be sure to get the white around the eyes look from wearing whatever they call those glasses you wear on a tanning bed.

Makeup: Gotta be sure to complement that special orange look. Don't overdo it, guys.

Clothing: Oh, man, this is where they can shine. Let's see. Off the rack black suit that's just a bit too large. White shirt with sleeves too long and that stick on the suit jacket sleeves. Skinny red tie that hangs down to mid zipper on the pants. Doesn't matter where you go or what you do, chicks love the baggy suit look, whatever the occasion.

Accessories: On the way out the door, attach a bit of toilet paper to your shoe.

This is their night.

Note to SNL: If you do this skit, a little credit to DU would be nice.

Wed Jan 5, 2022, 01:50 PM

A father instructs. He raises a child to be good, to be honest, to tell the truth, to be humble, to be fair, not to be petty, to respect women, to accept fair criticism, to protect the weak and not to injure the injured, such as the bereaved parents of a son who died heroically in Iraq and a reporter with a physical disability. Trump teaches otherwise. He shows a boy that the manly virtues are for suckers, that the narcissism of youth should be cherished and that angry impulses have to be honored. Lots of men have failed as presidents, as Trump surely will, but few fail so dismally as role models. He’s a boy’s idea of a man. He’s a man’s idea of a boy. — Richard Cohen (2017)

In a keynote speech at the National Conservatism Conference last month, Hawley accused the political left of seeking to redefine traditional masculinity as toxic, and called for a "revival of strong and healthy manhood in America."
