Novak Djokovic has reportedly been refused entry to Australia following a national outpouring of rage over his vaccine mandate exemption.

The world No. 1 tennis player arrived in Melbourne on Wednesday after securing a medical exemption to the Australian Open’s COVID-19 vaccine mandate—a decision that infuriated a nation where 90 percent of adults have been vaccinated yet some still can’t travel internationally or from state to state.

But, according to The Times of London, the star has been stopped at border control over a bizarre visa mix-up. According to the report, a member of Djokovic’s team requested a type of visa that doesn’t apply to people who have been granted a medical exemption from the COVID vaccines.

The federal government has reportedly asked for help in amending the visa—but the state government has refused. “The federal government has asked if we will support Novak Djokovic’s visa application to enter Australia,” Jaala Pulford, the Victorian sports minister, wrote on Twitter.

"Djokovic applied for a medical exemption which was granted following a rigorous review process involving two separate independent panels of medical experts.

"One of those was the Independent Medical Exemption Review Panel appointed by the Victorian Department of Health. They assessed all applications to see if they met the Australian Technical Advisory Group on Immunisation guidelines."

Djokovic has not revealed his vaccination status, but he had expressed doubt about whether he could play in the 2022 Australian Open because of the requirements."

I told my friends who follow tennis that there was going to be some HUGE blow back for him being given a non-vaxx medical exemption, especially since he has expressed doubt/fear about vaccines/certain kinds of anykind in the past that he would not put into his body. Now, he does have horrible allergies to Gluten which is why he became a Vegan years ago because Gluten was making him sick physically, but Gluten allergies won't cut it as to why he was given a non-vaxx medical exemption to enter Australia, especially since Oz has again gone into extremely tight lock-down mode, unless you can show that you've been 2 times vaxxed and boosted or will soon get your booster shot.

ALL of the rest of us have had to suffer from living through Covid and now Omicron, and Nole felt that since he had covid, his body building up antibodies associated with Covid would work for him. Nole, those anti-bodies you built up lessen over 6 months, so no you don't get a medical exemption unless you REALLY had an underlying medical problem preventing you from taking the vaccine that many of us have taken and been boosted to boot.

I have a friend who has scarred lungs/& is in her mid-60's, and her doctor strongly advised her to NOT get vaccinated. She also had heart surgery as a teen who was born with a hole in her heart, so she's been in DEEP & socially distancing since the covid vaccine was rolled out.

Nole literally thought he could waltz into Aussie Land sans vaccine shots and with a sketchy medical exemption, while the whole country was suffering from and living through Covid. The Aussie citizens I saw interviewed on Sky News television were BOILING hot over him getting a medical non-vaxx exemption.

I'm a Nole fan, but really Nole

I used to kinda like him but over the years he has proved to be more of an a-hole each year. This anti vax stuff has to be stopped and as long as "big shots" can get out of it so more "big shots" can make more money we will never get through this.

His main competition, not even talking about Federer and Nadal who may not really be that competitive with him now, are out injured. He had a great shot at gaining the all time best record easily.

HE will have a chance to go to Rolland Garros to go for 21 because as of now, the tournaments rule organizers have different rules for vaccination, so he might be able to win 21 in France vaxx-free. Rafa is back but will his foot hold up, even on his favorite clay?

Last year at the US Open in NY, the players didn't have to be vaxxed--But the officials, ball kids, fans who attended the 2020 US Open, food servers/sellers, people who worked there HAD to show proof that they all were double-vaxxed. Nole was DQ'd early on because he hit a lines person in the throat with a tennis ball out of frustration with his play. He wasn't angry at her. Anyway, he was gone after that action. He didn't do it on purpose but .... She was wearing a BLM button, and many a Serbian Nole fan on twitter was calling her a fascist, who got him knocked out of the US Open on purpose.

Tennis world number one Novak Djokovic is set to be deported from Australia after his visa was cancelled this morning, the federal government says.

Key points:
Novak Djokovic was detained by Australian Border Force [ABF] officials after arriving at Melbourne Airport last night
The ABF said Djokovic failed to meet the entry requirements and his visa was cancelled
The Serb has been granted a vaccination exemption by the Victorian government
The 34-year-old landed at Melbourne's Tullamarine airport late last night and was detained by Australian Border Force (ABF) officials.

In a statement, the ABF confirmed Djokovic did not meet the entry requirements and his visa was cancelled.

"Non-citizens who do not hold a valid visa on entry or who have had their visa cancelled will be detained and removed from Australia," the statement said.

Prime Minister Scott Morrison reacted to the decision, tweeting that "rules are rules, especially when it comes to our borders."

have been priceless since the story broke.

Also, Reported on TC Live - “Failed to provide appropriate standards of proof to enter the country” per Australia’s Minister of Health.

Then he was shuffled off to a Federal quarantine hotel until flight out of Oz arranged. 😂
