I teach a total of 126 students each day. Today I had 37 absent due to covid

I also had 15 students at different times during the day pulled out for covid testing




My last hour roster of 21 had 7 gone quarantined

These are 11-15 year olds.

1. Works both ways. All but one of mini's teachers are substitutes. The regulars are out with Covid.

3. We had to close 13 classrooms yesterday and more than that today.

We had 117 calls for subs that we couldn’t find anyone to fill today alone.

5. It's so hard for school age children nowadays

Many of them must be stunted. I feel lucky I was in school in normal circumstances. Teachers also are having a hard time.
