Baltimore State's Attorney Marilyn Mosby indicted on federal charges she lied on loans

She faces 30 years if convicted.

Mosby gained national popularity when she served as the prosecutor in the Freddie Gray case in 2015. Gray was an African American man who died in police custody.

On two occasions, according to court documents, Mosby also lied on two mortgage applications, allegedly failing to disclose that she had unpaid federal taxes from a number of years and the IRS had placed a $45,022 lien against all property that Mosby and her husband owned.

Mosby is also accused of lying in order to get a lower interest rate on the mortgage for her Kissimmee, Florida vacation home by claiming it was a second home. The court documents state that prior to claiming the "second home rider," Mosby entered an agreement with a vacation home management company which gave them control over renting out the property.

... after her for reasons other than the charges.

Their main charge is she lied on CARES act loans

Anyone or their family member who's had CV in 2020 qualified for CARES act and was able to get IRA account loans based on that. She got two loans and bought rental properties, but the DOJ is claiming she shouldn't got the loans because she got a raise

WTF ?! The DOJ text book made that up and was willing to put it in print !!

When Dems with talent, education and experience wreck their careers, screw things up for Democrats, disappoint the many who are counting on them. Why wreck things?!?! So frustrating and infuriating.

Their main charge is she lied about CV hardship to get a IRA loan but anyone who's had CV or in house family member who's had CV qualifies for that.

indictments of cops for the Freddie Gray murder. I mean who tracks whether someone rents out a second home while they're not there?

Someone who's out to get you.

for her comments and indictments regarding FG murder.

They must have been going over every thing she ever signed and finally found something. Something relatively minor when compared to GOP crimes.

OMFG, I'm Fucking Done !!!

The DOJ is ... NOT ... going after Putin's Whore with extra thin charges like this !!

These are request over 40,000 in retirement withdrawals !! Putin's Whore eats that much in a fuckin day !!

Also, the IRS would challenge these withdrawals in correspondence audits BEFORE feds would !!

WTF !?

But he said, until news of Thursday’s indictment, he hadn’t heard of the IRS challenging any withdrawals.

These charges are bullshit and 100% the reason I know the DOJ can prosecute Putin's Whore but isn't.

This is some bullshit

WTF

This is TEXT BOOK abuse of process !!

Also, the TITLE company is ***PAID*** to look into clouds over loans and if they don't find them there aint none

There's NO WAY title companies just "missed" a federal tax lien in the year the IRS is behind 2 years on everyone's taxes.

This is more than just slap on the hand stuff, the DOJ in this case isn't even sharing documents they claim she made false statements on !!

Fuck the DOJ

They can agressively prosecute anyone they want

read the indictment can do so at the link below:

She deserves her day in court, without question, but based on the indictment, if she did these things, then yeah, she should face the music.

Trump and his minions should face the music for their financial crimes as well, but their crimes don't negate her alleged crimes.

Per the indictment (not proven in court yet, of course)

She allegedly lied (twice) by claiming that she suffered a financial hardship due to COVID, which enabled her to take distributions from her retirement account (distributions, not loans) without having to pay the normal 10% penalty.

She allegedly lied on a mortgage closing document, stating that the home would not be rented out when in fact she had already signed an agreement with a rental management company to rent out the home. The alleged lie allowed her to obtain a lower mortgage rate (second home) than she would as an investor planning to rent out the property.

She allegedly lied on closing documents for two separate properties when she stated that she had no outstanding debts to the federal government, even though she has tax liens due to unpaid federal taxes.

Are there forces out there that have been out to get her since the FG debacle? No question. But if she did indeed do what she's accused of, then she provided the ammunition to take her down.
