Michael Avenatti has apparently taken a cue from Michael Cohen and is seeking $94 million in compensation for mistreatment while in jail:

Since early 2018, Claimant, a prominent trial lawyer, has been an outspoken critic of former
President Donald J. Trump. In March 2018, Claimant filed several lawsuits against President
Trump on behalf of his client, Stephanie Clifford (a/k/a Stormy Daniels). These lawsuits gave
Claimant a platform to expose President Trumps misconduct, corruption and mendacity. Major
television networks interviewed Claimant hundreds of times about the legal proceedings and
President Trump. President Trump fixated on Claimant as a burgeoning threat to his presidency
and re-election campaign. Beginning in 2019, federal prosecutors aggressively pursued charges
against Claimant in California and New York.
...
When Claimant requested reading material, he was initially refused, and
then provided one book, The Art of the Deal, purportedly co-written by Donald J. Trump.
Claimant filed several grievances with the Bureau of Prisons but received no responses, nor was
he afforded any hearing or process.

(115,683 posts)1. Avenatti continues to embarrass himself, even from prison.
He calls himself a "prominent trial lawyer" in his complaint, but prominent or not, he's a disbarred and disgraced ex-lawyer. But maybe he has a point if the only book he was allowed to read in prison was "The Art of the Deal"; that could constitute cruel and unusual punishment. He could have used it as toilet paper, though.

I was never a fan of Avenati and I was not surprised when he fell apart

against Trump.
Still, the idea of giving him just that book to read and nothing else tickles me.

(8,387 posts)4. It's a horrible book
Someone gave me a copy as a gag gift years ago.
The amazing thing is that even though he didn't write it, it's still an awful read. It's just a collection of "Fake Stories About How Great I Am".

(8,387 posts)7. That's easy
It's a million better than 93 million.
