live in MO there seem to be very few shortages of things we buy at the store or drug store. My husband does most of the shopping since I have trouble getting around and he isn’t seeing empty shelves like they show on tv. The only thing he can’t find is Covid tests at the drug store which is no surprise. Haven’t needed one yet-knock on wood.

What’s missing from the inflation coverage is the consistent acknowledgement that the trend of rising prices is a global phenomenon, fueled by the pandemic. The Politico report made no mention of worldwide inflation, neither did the Times or Post dispatches; the AP included just one sentence.

Dismissed or downplayed is the fact that systemic, record-setting inflation has taken hold in virtually every major economy [links to overseas stories]:

And the shortages are nothing like what the TV scares people with.

There are shortages, for several reasons, but most people can find whatever they need. The rightwing media might want it to be, but it's not Biden's fault.

A global pandemic has completely fucked up supply chains in a global economy. And we're still in it.

Sarcasm does not translate or work well on web blogs and forums. Never has and never will. Personally I stopped using it years ago (except for very special occasions and I label it well if I use it) for that reason. Too many just didn't get what I was trying to say so my efforts were wasted.

And that account has so few likes etc. I've never seen it in my twitter feeds.

There are literally thousands like it, no one can be aware of them all.

Thanks for the explanation though.
