Mark Bankston had fun today. I watch part of the hearing and Susan Bankston filled me in on the rest. The judge got pissed at Alex Jones' 8th counsel who is a solo attorney who mainly does family law. This attorney was NOT prepared

Fridays hearing focused on complaints, raised by the Sandy Hook parents in the same filing, that the corporate representative who Free Speech Systems designated to answer questions during a December deposition failed to adequately prepare, rendering the exercise a waste of time and a farce.
Mark Bankston, a lawyer for the parents, played several deposition videos and introduced more than 40 pages of transcripts showing InfoWars producer Daria Karpova unable to answer eight questions that had been submitted long before she sat down to represent Jones and his companies in the deposition.
When Jones lawyer, Jacquelyn Blott, insisted that Karpova answered questions to the best of her ability, state District Judge Maya Guerra Gamble interrupted to strongly disagree.
The deposition records show that Karpova failed to take even the most basic steps to prepare for the deposition, the judge said.
The judge is going to sign orders for the sanctions ordered in the last hearing and indicated that the new attorney needs to provide a corporate representative(s) who can actually answer the questions.

The enemy wants to cut off our funding to destroy us, Jones said in a 2018 broadcast. If you dont fund us, well be shut down.
That same year, the Infowars store made more than $56 million in sales.....
On Dec. 27, lawyers for several Sandy Hook parents filed court depositions with the Travis County district clerk in Austin, Texas, where Jones radio show is based. Tucked away among the more than 500 pages of deposition transcripts were more than 30 pages of spreadsheets detailing how much the Infowars store made every day from Sept. 18, 2015, to Dec. 31, 2018, including the number of orders made and items sold. HuffPost first obtained the documents on Tuesday.

(350 posts)He has been paying out millions to have an 24 hour online presence. He no longer has advertising revenue so I'm sure that his revenue has been cut by two thirds. He is now selling conspiracy videos and quack vitamins to raise revenue.

(21,563 posts)Changing lawyers constantly to delay suits is an intentional strategy.
Judge should say: fine is ten million and goes up one million each day until you submit to me an actual accounting of all assets.
Ill bet they suddenly find those accounts they forgot about.

(33,643 posts)"InfoWars producer Daria Karpova" is the one who was unprepared, per the excerpted text.
Or did I miss something?

(36,261 posts)There's a Russian Judo practitioner by that name, but I can't find a lead on a Dar(i/y)a Karpova connected to InfoWars, unless that's her.
Maybe another Russian honeytrap, like Maria Butina ??

(18,632 posts)He, like Trump, will cause all kinds of confusion and problems that will only slow down the trial for years. Wjen they hand down a sentence he will appeal and it starts again. If he is ordered to pay he will delay paying with all kinds of excuses. If he finally pays it will only be a small percentage of what he is supposed to and the familys will have to sue again to get the rest but then it starts all over again.
Our legal system is easy to game so the the guilty never suffer consequences.

They don't do that with civil cases.
