Can Somebody Explain...

I cannot get my head around the fact that Democratic legislators. Including the President, are not constantly calling news conferences and doing interviews to promote the legislation they want to pass. For instance, why are Senators and Congresspeople not calling media outlets to ask for interviews and explain that: States are passing laws whereby state legislators can vote to throw out a slate of electors and substitute their own, literally overriding elections? Why the secrecy? Why is this only talked about once in a great while? I am at a loss.

While it’s refreshing not to see or hear that jackass every day, I do agree the Dems should be more vocal. But the news shows love a controversial loud mouth, and the rethugs excel at that.

That's what happens when you let the media choose what they want to cover, which they will undoubtedly do. The media, left to its own preference will always present the conservative viewpoint and leave out the progressive viewpoint. But if Democrats are constantly calling the media with announcements of special live press conferences, will the media not go? Is this happening?

Senators should be out there looking for microphones. I still remember back to Ted Kennedy's passionate speeches. There are no Ted Kennedys in this Senate.

But seriously, I don't get it either. It's like we don't believe in marketing. It's like we know the media has a right wing bias so we just gave up on messaging. The right has more successfully defined our side than we have.

7. Would they come?

I would start calling TV stations right now to announce a press conference if I thought they would come. I don't have any name recognition beyond the walls of my house, though (and sometimes even that's questionable).
