Sen. Mitt Romney says Biden was elected 'to stop the crazy' and argues that voters weren't asking

him 'to transform America'

Sen. Mitt Romney on Sunday dinged President Joe Biden's governing approach, arguing that the veteran Democratic lawmaker was elected to restore a sense of normalcy to government and was not put into office to "transform" the country.

During an interview on NBC's "Meet the Press," the Utah Republican — who was also the party's presidential nominee in 2012 — told host Chuck Todd that Biden has needed to adhere to his commitment to bridge partisan divisions in the country in the wake of the president's fiery voting-rights speech in Atlanta last week.

"President Biden said he was going to try to unite the country," the senator said. "His comments in Georgia did not suggest he's trying to pull us back together again."

He continued: "He's got to recognize that when he was elected, people were not looking for him to transform America. They were looking to get back to normal. To stop the crazy. And it seems like we're continuing to see the kinds of policy and promotions that are not accepted by the American people."

Biden is trying to stop the crazy. He's trying to unite America against a radical minority which is trying to destroy our democracy by force.

You should be familiar with them Mitt -- they make up 99.99% of the party that you belong to. Biden's comments in Georgia were directed at your crazies. The crazies that American elected him to try to stop. The crazies that you hang out with, Mitt.

This reminds me of when people were like "well I guess racism is over" when Obama was elected. Likewise, the Republican Party didn't just suddenly stop being crazy when Biden was elected.

Those who tried to push the proclamation that "..racism is over.." when PBO got elected had an agenda doused in Gaslight. Like Romney.

and President Biden is not 'transforming' but improving so we ALL can LIVE in it.

I'm sure many could respond to romney, in a way he could understand, but he may be irretrievably digging himself into trumperland. (His father was a much better man. Sorry.)

He lives in a bubble of extreme privilege. This interview demonstrates his cluelessness about the lives of Americans.

I never forgot the day his wife, Queen Ann, wore a $900 tee shirt on one of the morning shows.

What about calling out Republicans that are splitting up urban areas into multiple voting districts to ensure Republican representation and removing polling places and drop off voting options to make it more difficult for those with jobs and limited transportation options to exercise their right to vote is so fucking radical?

Enshrining voting rights IS returning to normal after this past election.
