Rep. Jamie Raskin Warns That The GOP Is Acting Like A Religious Cult

Rep. Jamie Raskin Warns That The GOP Is Acting Like A Religious Cult
Rep. Jamie Raskin (D-MD) said that America no longer has two political parties because Republicans are acting like a political and religious cult of personality.

Jamie Raskin: Republicans No Longer Act Like A Modern Political Party

CNN’s Jim Acosta asked Rep. Raskin how worried he is about our democracy.

Rep. Raskin answered:

Well, we’re in the fight of our lives. And he continues to propound his big lie, and everything flows from his big lie. It’s shocking that one of America’s major political parties, the one founded by Abraham Lincoln, has now wrapped itself around lies, propaganda, conspiracy theory, and disinformation.

They’re now outside of our constitutional order. They attack our constitutional system. They attack the outcome of our election. So they fail the basic responsibility of a political party, which is to accept the constitutional structure as it exists.

So, we’re down to one party here, that is a pro-democracy party. We invite everybody all along the political spectrum from whatever point of view to join us in defending the democracy. There could be no more important work that we have. And we’ve got to defend all of our institutions. The courts, we’ve got to defend, the press we’ve got to defend, the congress we’ve got to defend the rule of law itself against what Donald Trump is proposing.

They no longer act like a modern political party. They act like a religious and political cult of personality, and it’s a perilous thing that has evolved over there. And we’re asking for people to stand strong. And I salute patriots from the Republican party like Liz Cheney, like Adam Kinzinger, like the seven senators who voted to convict the ten representatives who voted to impeach all of those who were standing up for truth because that’s what’s at stake right now.

The Corporate Media Must Stop Normalizing The GOP Religious Cult

A big reason why the Republican Party was able to transform into a Trump religious cult of personality is that the mainstream press continues to treat the GOP like they are a normal political party.

One of the two political parties in the United States has moved toward authoritarianism. The press still blames President Biden for not achieving bipartisanship with people who want to destroy democracy.

In the future, when the story of this time in history is written, it will hopefully contain an extensive section on the many failures of the corporate free press that chose to place profits ahead of democracy.

Rep. Raskin perfectly explained the situation.

PoliitcusUSA is listening, but the corporate press must heed and act on the warning.

warming and covid.

one theory suggests greed and the fear of uncertainty/need for certainty that drives authoritarianism is caused or amplified by right handed masturbation, which associates impatient satisfaction-demanding reproductive impulses with parts of the brain (left hemisphere) often associated with functions like mathematics and logic.

the theory suggests that there was some survival value in sex on the wrong brain in times of conflict and eventually humans evolved from about 50-50 right and left handed to 90% RH now. as populations densities increased so did conflict and societies began to select for sowb symptoms more and more. in the last few thousand years it got increasingly worse in old world 'civilizations' thanks to sexual repression and frustration increased by authoritarian social and value structures.

democratic forms of organization evolved to regulate and limit sex on the wrong brain symptoms like greed and authoritarianism. the last 30 years here we have regressed mainly because rw radio and fox have been used successfully to short circuit the feedback mechanisms a healthy democracy needs. that has harmed democracy all over the world.

in propaganda, rw radio is perfect for selling lies because the i'm-never-wrong-royal certitude leaders like limbaugh were never challenged in real time and for authoritarians certainty is more import than truth. issues like global warming and covid can be painted with uncertainty/fear until the certainty of denial of the problem becomes comforting and satisfying. 'market forces' solve everything and help avoid the complexities that bring stressful uncertainties.

trumpers, taliban, nazis, proud boys, and now Republican Party are masturbation cults made up largely of a small minorities of people from mostly 'old world' gene pools that have been separated from nature and have been selecting for sex on the wrong brain symptoms for centuries in Europe and parts of north africa and asia.

COVID has increased the chaos and fear that makes the royal certitude of their leaders more appealing and comforting.

the greed, suspicion, lack of empathy, absolutism, and fear may have sowb survival value in the absence of democratic cooperation, imagination, and fairness in rough times but today with global warming and covid the denial of reality needed to create and accept non-existent certainty and ease the fear of uncertainty really is suicidal.

To our Republic and the American public at large. Not only have they attacked our democratic electoral system and other constitutional institutions, but they've defended and encouraged the suicidal behavior of antivaxxers allowing the spread of a virus that's killed 800,700+ Americans.

The continued spread of propaganda/disinformation has poisoned minds and the body politic.

The Republican Party stands with fascists and Covid-19. Both lethal.

Death Cult.

I keep thinking Rs who have lost loved ones or friends because of covid would be questioning why in the
hell did they listen to FQX and FailedCoupGuy about covid. I still believe this should help us in the midterms.

family and friends dying of COVID are regarded as tests of faith, necessary sacrifices, and proof of honorable fealty among the MAGAts as long as they hold firm in their anti-federal beliefs.

They are busy making a friend of horror. Soon they will be willing to commit their own acts of moral terror and violence in the name of their god-emperor.

The fact that the republican party would even give someone like DJT a foot into their party tells me something about the people in that party!! It gives me a whole different outlook on the republican party. I am a strong democrat but have always respected the rep party..............not anymore, they have become a bunch of desperate losers willing to let any degenerate destroy our country!!

if our democracy fails. Just think of the lack of rules and regulation in despotic countries. Just think of the limits on free speech in theocracies. Corporations and media are just as vulnerable as individuals. They just don't know it.

Corporations would have to pay more in bribes than they do in taxes. Religion as we know it would be banned.
