Says one of the ReTHUGs who was a fraudulent elector said the document came fromt the Slobfather's campaign. She thinks the Feds should charge them but won't rule out state charges. Oh My!! The party's over.

once you indict you have to show the criminals all the evidence you have.
Do you want the organizers to get off because prosecutors showed their hand too early. Do you play poker with your cards showing?

(2,373 posts)This was all referred to the 1/6 Committee as well as the Feds. They wanted an airtight investigation and all the fact straight before 1) making it known that it had been referred and 2) the Feds will want to make sure all the ducks are in a row before they present to a grand jury.
Maybe I'm stating the obvious with the following, and if I am, forgive me, but we forget that the legal system moves slower than what we'd like - for a lot of reasons. So here it is, from lawyer friends of mine: It's often said that a prosecutor can indict a ham sandwich if they want, but a good prosecutor won't go to a grand jury unless they're confident they can actually get a conviction. "Confident" usually meaning, they feel it's a slam dunk: No prosecutor wants to take a case to court and spend a lot of time on it, just to have it end up as an acquittal.

(220 posts)are just one of the states that used the same form. It is an obvious and apparent coordination of effort. In that it is criminal in nature, a felony, it's a conspiracy, in this case to defraud the US government and interfere with the peaceful transfer of power. Michigan can't prosecute the other state's actors. Only the feds can wrap it all together. Keeping in mind that this just a small, but significant, part of a much bigger and far wider conspiracy, patience is warranted. The conspiracy charges against the Oath Keepers is just the tip of the iceberg.

(51,129 posts)......... The voluminous documents state election officials have sent the Jan. 6 committee, obtained by POLITICO through open records requests, underscore the depth of Trump's pressure campaign directed at the typically lower-level administrators of presidential balloting. The emails, texts and phone recordings also add consequential context to previously reported incidents, such as Trumps call to Georgia's top elections investigator and Mark Meadows outreach to Georgia election officials.
.........
The National Archives sent emails to the Arizona secretary of state on Dec. 11, 2020, passing along the forged certificates for your awareness and informing the state officials the Archives would not accept them.
Arizona then took legal action against at least one of the groups who sent in the fake documents ....
That groups leader, Lori Osiecki ... decided to send in the certificates after taking part in post-election rallies and after attending a daylong meeting in Phoenix that had included Trumps personal attorney Rudy Giuliani. ...........

(51,129 posts)Rudy seems to have been doing the legwork to obtain the forgeries and fake electors. Some of the electors on the ballot refused and they had to bring in substitutes. Those people might make the best witnesses about who was pressuring electors.
And #FailedCoupGuy was trying to install a personal attorney, Clark Eastman, as Attorney General. They were all in on it!

Add an extra three years:
Whoever, having knowledge of the actual commission of a felony cognizable by a court of the United States, conceals and does not as soon as possible make known the same to some judge or other person in civil or military authority under the United States, shall be fined under this title or imprisoned not more than three years, or both.

(2,220 posts)Eventually someone is going to get the number of that bus. It is pretty clear right now who all the trails of bloody bus tire treads lead back to.
If you look at it, we have motive, confession, bodies and weapons. There isn't even reasonable doubt at this point. As long as we eliminate potential jurors who think beloved liberals are going to come back to life as rabid conservatives and perform a concert for Trump, the conviction is almost certain.

Trump is sending money to Meshawn Maddock and her husband, state rep, Matt Maddock. Meshawn is the MI GOP co-chair and one of the fake Republican electors who forged the election documents.
