The coup of 2020 gestated within the central organizations of the Republican right

This piece names names of the plotters behind the failed 2020 coup.

[link:https://www.theguardian.com/commentisfree/2022/jan/06/capitol-attack-coup-attempt-trump-far-right-republicans|]

Behind the insurrection of 6 January was a coup plot that was months in the making, and which involved a dastardly cast of characters

The author of the opinion piece shows how the coup was "adapted, enhanced and intensified from longstanding Republican strategies for voter suppression."

One of my take-aways: Kash Patel is a dangerous, flaming asshole. He's also relatively young, so expect more treason from this spook.
Along with most of the rat effers noted in this opinion piece.

to warm America that Qrump was attempting to overturn the election in his favor. 2 whole months Rs talked about
how they could pull it off on Jan 6th. 2 whole months they exchanged and debated ideas behind closed doors
how they could accomplish FailedCoupGuy's goal without looking like the bad guys. How in the HELL could any
elected R in congress today state they had no idea what was going on in their own backyard for 2 months. We
sent them to Washington DC to pay attention to everything, not wear horse blinders.

However, I believe the plotting (& people in the know not warning anyone) went on much longer than 2 months. From the article:

More than a year before the election of 2020, in August 2019, conservative operatives in closely connected rightwing organizations began preparing a strategy for disputing election results. A “Political Process Working Group” focused on “election law and ballot integrity” was launched by Lisa Nelson, the CEO of the American Legislative Exchange Council (Alec), heavily funded by the Koch brothers’ dark money syndicate, the Donors Trust.

And they are still ongoing. "A learning experiment for the Republican party as a whole." A learning experiment, the failed coup.

The coup of 2020 gestated within the central organizations of the Republican right, and it was a learning experiment for the Republican party as a whole.

Wish we could dismantle Alec, Koch brothers and the like use it to control our Government as they see fit
from behind closed doors.

about an investigation of 1/6 and everything associated with it. They knew that many of their own are implicated in it. The irony is that by rejecting the bipartisan commission, they ensured that they'd have little to no control over the investigation. They have settled for trying to splash doubt on the credibility of the commission, but information is still coming out despite their attempts to obstruct/stonewall.

It is indeed mainstream. In the Republican Attorney's General Association emails obtained via an open record request, which I read some of, RAGA described their conference as a friendly outdoor meeting where AG's and their assistants could network and make connections in a friendly, non-threatening manner. (They were a part of the coup planning, months in advance August, 2020)!!!!

Christ on a trailer hitch, RAGA sent out robocalls the day before the insurrection, encouraging the fascists to attend. Who authorized that? Who did the voice over. Did they plot this out in their Georgia meeting months before Jan. 6???

And I don't see a lot of wiggle room between insurrection, sedition, seditious conspiracy, and treason.

Surely I'm wrong about that, but that is the way I see it.

9. Kick What did Jody Hice (R-Georgia) know in advance?

He was screaming into his phone "You've screwed it up!" while being whisked to safety.

Meaning, the rioters disrupted the (widely known?) plan to have alternate electors for mobbed up Trump submitted. But the insurrection interfered with that coup.

What did the fascist know and when did he know it?

Time can be twisted at will. Why not have a riot while you are trying to steal the vote. It make perfect sense. He loved it and thought it was going to save him. He watch it gleefully on TV. He thought he could do both in case one of them did not go as well. He is a total dumb ass and like everything he touches it dies. The USA was more than touched by TFG. Stormy Daniels is still alive so there may be hope because we were fucked.
