Pro-choice PAC Emily's List will cease support for Sen. Kyrsten Sinema over voting rights: 'She will

find herself standing alone in the next election'

One of the largest pro-woman, pro-choice PACS in the country has pulled its support for Sen. Kyrsten Sinema over the Arizona lawmaker's refusal to support changes to the filibuster that would allow Democrats to pass voting rights legislation.

The president of Emily's List, a political action committee focused on electing Democratic pro-choice women, announced Tuesday the organization plans to no longer support Sinema in future elections.

"Right now, Sen. Sinema's decision to reject the voice of allies, partners, and constituents who believe the importance of voting rights outweighs that of an arcane process means she will find herself standing alone in the next election," Laphonza Butler wrote in a statement.

The announcement comes days after Sinema effectively killed President Joe Biden's push to pass legislation that would protect voting rights across the country. Doing so would have required every single Democrat in the 50-50 Senate to vote in favor of overhauling the filibuster, but Sinema and Sen. Joe Manchin of West Virginia – two moderate Democrats who have long been opposed to gutting the Senate rule – reaffirmed their resistance last week.

Her obstinance regarding the filibuster is outrageous and has pissed off all of the Dems who gave her the margin to win her seat. She'd really be wasting her time unless she plans to run as a rethug.

Bisexual non-Christian women have no home in the modern GOP, and certainly not in Arizona. They'll gladly enjoy the schadenfreude of her tanking the Democratic agenda, but when it comes time to pull the lever, it won't be for her, it'll be for the actual GOP candidate.

Just a matter of which right wing corporation will hire her.

Where is our media when researching this should be such a priority.

Does anybody really think that sinema still needs Emily’s less support with all the millions she has made off her first term she will be a strong incumbent no matter if Emily’s list backs her or not also given that she’s killed voting rights she will be a folk icon to the Republicans if she switches parties taking the incumbency and the seat with her

At least in politics. Democrats won’t re-elect her and the Trumpers will go after her lifestyle. Who would be left to vote for her? It’s doubtful any amount amount of money could overcome this reality.
