When TFG lost the election by a wide margin I felt a great relief.

I thought the nightmare was finally over. How wrong I was. While I greatly fear the direction the country is going I do have a hope that as the truth comes out it will lead to positive changes. The rethugs have laid their cards on the table, I hope people will finally see how corrupted we’ve become. I know that’s not necessarily what will happen but just looking at the turnout for the last election it’s obvious more people are starting to pay attention.

It makes me think of a show I watched a few years ago talking about mans greatest inventions. There were lots of technologies discussed, one of my favorites was refrigeration (and air conditioning). However there was one guy who thought the greatest invention of man was the limited liability corporation. I could certainly see why some would think that, but the idea scared me; that many would agree with him.

We don’t have a system that every votes count the same (or else Hilary Clinton would have won). In the swing states that mattered, the votes difference are very small and it was a very close election. That’s why it took a week after Election Day to declare a winner. The election was closer than Hilary’s back in 2016.

For me, 2020 was a warning sign because how close it was despite how much of a disaster Trump is/was.

And on the senate side, we did kind of poorly because we didn’t get some easy wins in Maine and NC. Imagine what the BBB votes would be if we had 52 senators instead of 50. And we only got 50 because of the 2 surprising wins in GA which I would have rated less possible than Maine and NC if you asked me in 2020.
