When my granddaughter was maybe 20 months old I gave her just such a phone. It was her father’s toy decades ago. All my granddaughter knew about phones was her parents’ smartphones, which she would talk on, sort of, and tap on. She took the fisher price phone and instantly held it up to her ear and started talking. Of course, she was talking 2-year-old gibberish. Which was amazing, I thought.

And which, when I think about it, is really the connection with Eric trumps use of his phones.
