Yesterday, on the floor of the Senate, Manchin claimed:
He even had his own sign:
Only problem, he's goofy.
First off, there was NO filibuster for the first 17 years of the Senate.
Second, the last three Supreme Court nominees Justices Amy Coney Barrett, Brett Kavanaugh, and Neil Gorsuch were all confirmed with a simple majority. Manchin himself was the 51st Senator to back Kavanaugh, single-handedly ending debate.

I'm so sick of both him and Sinema. Fingers crossed, and I know it's just a slight chance, that we somehow elect two more Dem senators in the mid-terms.

(53,778 posts)You've probably seen the threads lately that she thinks she's the smartest person in the room and expects to be running for president soon, which is why she plays both sides of the aisle, as if Democrats are going to forget she scuttled her own party's agenda and will vote for her for the party's presidential nominee at some point.
That will never happen, we have long memories, and republicans will vote for a real republican and not some chameleon like her who takes on a coloring she thinks is most favorable for her.
