Hamtramck Judge Alexis Krot has apologized to an elderly cancer patient she berated and threatened with jail time over some unkempt weeds outside his home. And she said she's reporting herself to a state commission that probes judicial misbehavior.
"I made a mistake," Krot said in a statement shared with the Free Press by the court Thursday. "I acted intemperately. I'm very embarrassed that I did so. I apologize to the person who appeared before me and to our entire community for having failed to meet the high standards that we expect of our judicial officers, and that I expect of myself."

(4,552 posts)I was disgusted when this first hit the news awhile back.
I wonder if it dawned on her that when her term was up, she would need to get re-elected to continue her reign of nasty terror on a community made up of a large proportion of immigrants. Like the gentleman she verbally thrashed.
Its disturbing to think what would have happened if she sentenced him to jail, and he had an unfortunate medical crisis. And got worse or died. She appears to not be very deliberative. I find that dangerous in a judge.
