Clapton is one of the most talented blues guitarists to ever play rock n roll. Thats just my opinion of course. Mine is based on almost 50 years of listening to rock n roll and blues and having seen him play live on multiple occasions over 4 decades along with many other blues guitarists from BB King to John Mayer and Derek Trucks and many in between. Clapton's a fucking idiot its true. And that may or may not be valid justification for not listening to his music. Its all aesthetic so theres no right answer, but I do not believe there is much support for saying he is not a phenomenal guitarist. I'll sort of defer to the opinions of the blues greats like BB who have over many years held Clapton's talents in high esteem.
