Embattled MAGA congressman Matt Gaetz enthusiastically endorsed former House Speaker Newt Gingrichs suggestion to jail members of the Jan. 6 House committee, telling ex-Trump strategist Steve Bannon on Monday that Newts right and Republicans should not be limp-wristed.

During a Monday morning appearance on Bannons War Room: Pandemic podcast, Gaetzwho is currently under federal investigation of sex trafficking and obstruction of justicefirst framed his own legal troubles as part of a Deep State conspiracy that included the Jan. 6 attack. (Both Gaetz and Bannon have repeatedly peddled baseless theories that the Capitol riots were a false flag operation orchestrated by the federal government.)

(6,232 posts)Sure, Newt and Matt, you two go ahead and file a criminal complaint against the committee. You'll be the laughingstock of the country.

(16,926 posts)While I agree with your urging the 'Dum-dums' to go ahead and file complaints - you're a bit late with your last part.
They ALREADY ARE the laughingstock of the country! They'll only be increasing their 'final score!'

(82,849 posts)I suppose indulging Newton's fantasies is preferable to facing the gut-churning reality of being held responsible for your crimes, but you don't have to be public about it.
