Especially someone who had to work from nothing and experienced what it’s like not to be a guy like me with most advantages a person can have growing up.

I’m having flashbacks to the “Chapel Show” segment “when keeping it real goes wrong” - except if you’re appointed for life, it can’t really go wrong for a Supreme Court Justice.

There are some great judges and potential appointees out there. I believe we will end up with someone solid regardless of who is ultimately confirmed.

I saw a comment that he will retire in June. That would make sense, and give plenty of time to appoint a replacement before the next SCOTUS term and the midterm elections.

from "progressives" narrative. Clear to me the poor old man just can't take it any more and is taking the only way available of escaping LW persecution.

Good for Justice Breyer, strategically timed to have a Biden appointee in place for the opening of the next term.

He's 69 years old. The nominee will be closer to 50 than 60 (and definitely nowhere near 70).
