He's already in charge in a way.

Secondly, African-American's are expecting a black woman to be put onto the High Court like Biden promised, and IF that doesn't happen and a white woman or white male whose center right is put onto the high court like Manchin wants it, I can guarantee you Biden/Dems LOSE a LOT of the black vote.

I have posts on here saying that Manchin would do exactly what he's doing now--want a non-black, center right justice on the high court. Manchin probably wants a white male to be placed onto the court to HIS liking.

Tough choice ahead for Dems if they buckle to Manchin's whims.

Especially since 69% of the people polled in the state where Manchin is the Senator, support the policies described in the BBB legislation. Manchin is using right wing tactics at this point. He discusses vague "principles", uses delay tactics, and lies.

I know that we need Manchin to maintain a level of control over the Senate. I am not calling for him to switch parties or go away, or whatever. We do need to explore, if it is possible, to get someone to challenge Manchin for his seat in the next primary. That process does not have to be out in the open at this point, but we should definitely be studying.

had a very liberal philosophy. There were 42 judicial appointments in Biden's first year.

I see Manchin and Sinema having no problem voting for whoever Biden picks. They haven't in the past

While it may not be anything new, Manchin made that statement TODAY

and what Reich is saying is NOT anything new either.

just something to try and stir people up

If people are not happy with the ideology of Manchin and Sinema, they should work to get more Democrats elected in the Senate in the midterms, which would make them irrelevant

Manchin and Sinema are NOT up for re-election in the midterms, so to achieve that goal need to look at states like Pennsylvania

in line with many of the issues of the Democrats in Congress.

With Manchin this has been known for a long time. He is in West Virgina where trump won the state by over 42%.

However, at this time Manchin and Sinema give us the majority, and that is a BIG DEAL.

It should be pretty obvious to most now that if we want to move things toward more progressive legislation, we need to win more seats in Congress. Going after Manchin and Sinema will accomplish zip. Winning at least a two seat majority in the Senate, and maintaining the majority in the House, will change everything

and many years to follow.

Anyone that believes government has a proactive role in promoting/building/supporting a public welfare or common good, automatically faces an uphill battle against corporate media propaganda that has played out for decades.

There are good, conscientious journalists employed by cable and network news but the industry business model; works against the idea of a common good and their reporting or lack thereof on so many critical issues affecting the average American only reinforces the status quo or so their ownership/upper management believe until a Trump comes along....or perhaps that's what they want?

Murdoch certainly did.

The corporate media make their money by selling and influencing, not educating or enlightening the people with a few rare exceptions AKA; plagues and such, while even this has gaps as in FOX etc.

With the corporate media it's almost always about the money and their money is made from the status quo, every public dollar that our Government invests in the people make stronger workers and can take away lucrative commercial dollars from, fossil fuels, big pharma, etc. so their surface interests are opposed.

So time is never on the side of progressive causes that believe our government has a fundamentally better role to play in the lives of the American People in perfect harmony with the Preamble to the U.S. Constitution.
