https://www.nytimes.com/2022/01/27/us/maus-banned-holocaust-tennessee.htmlI can't think of anything that would re-kindle attention to the facts of the holocaust more than this book being talked about in the NYT and, presumably, all over Tennessee and beyond!
It's right up there with McConnell's "but still she persevered!"

(17,536 posts)The problem is that there are tens of millions of American who see banning the book as a positive thing. Those are the ones who, given the right circumstances, would support or participate in another holocaust. The legislative action shows how far we have regressed as a nation. I don't see anything positive about state politicians supporting such legislation.
You can put a Nazi in a three piece suit, and let him call himself (or herself) a Republican or a patriot, and they are still fucking Nazis.

C'mon. Mice and cats are naturally nude, and I've been on the receiving end of cat profanity before.

(13,783 posts)"hold a class set of 30" Just curious. What is a "class set?" And is "hold a class" the same as "have a class?"

(7,737 posts)I have 30 copies of this book that I ordered years ago so that an entire class could read it at the same time with a lesson plan.
WWII is a part of the 7th and 8th grade social studies curriculum.

(16,389 posts)I treasure my copies of Maus and Maus 2 and reread them periodically to refresh my memory. I think it's great that these books are being used in middle schools. The school in Tennessee that voted to ban it must be full of idiots if they find that book objectionable.
