Released court documents: In Feb 1974 a federal grand jury was prepared to indict Nixon on 4 charges

Bribery, conspiracy, and two counts of obstruction. The grand jury was Un-sure a SITTING president could be indicted. Trump is no longer a sitting president.

A month later the grand jury indicted a bunch of Nixon's aides, who eventually went to prison. Are you listening Mark Meadows.

Nixon was forced to resign and soon afterwards Ford pardoned Nixon for all his crimes. The Republicans under Trump should have forced Trump to resign. They violated their oaths of office and put the entire country in jeopardy. I hope the Democrats run on this fact in future elections.

Trump will probably claim he committed his crimes while his was president, therefore he cannot be indicted. There is a very good reason a sitting president cannot be indicted. It would hinder his ability to do his job and put our national security at risk. That is not the case for a former president. No grand jury would buy Trumps bullshit.

In May a grand jury will be seated in Georgia. I expect Garland to put in place a special prosecutor, federal grand jury before the year ends. I believe it's reasonable to assume Garland is waiting for all the evidence from the Jan.6th committee to be handed over to him when the committee finishes their investigation this summer.

When the grand juries are put in place and the investigations grow more intense, I expect Trump and his Co-conspirators to commit more crimes, like obstruction of justice. I believe many of them will turn to save their asses.

Trump does not have the protection of a sitting president, like Nixon. Trump does not have a president who will pardon him for his crimes, like Nixon. Get your popcorn ready people.

Trump and his enablers think they are smarter than Nixon. Don't hide the crimes, simply lie about the crimes. Tell people you have a legal reason for what you did.

There is not a grand jury in America that will fall for that bullshit. These are not smart people and justice is going to catch up to them.

Stone, a Nixon fanatic, has been giving advise to trump for decades. Don't make the same mistakes as Nixon is one example. Never resign no matter what is another.

Together trying to untangle them would be worse than any jig saw puzzle ever. It will take years.

I was heartened this morning to read that charges were ready to be filed against Nixon. It had to be a hard decision for Ford to make to pardon him.

BYW, I read it in this thread! Just realized that.
