https://www.wunderground.com/wundermap?lat=40.01&lon=-83.01&zoom=8&radar=1&wxstn=0Tracking north and east. We are getting freezing rain now for another 3 hours and then about
10 to 14" of snow.
When the rain came I thought you'd leave
'Cause I knew how much you loved the sun
But you chose to stay, stay and keep me warm
Through the darkest nights I've ever known
If the mandolin wind couldn't change a thing
Then I know I love ya
Oh, the snow fell without a break
Buffalo died in the frozen fields you know
Through the coldest winter in almost fourteen years
I couldn't believe you kept a smile
Now I can rest assured knowing that we've seen the worst
And I know I love ya
Coffee, butter biscuits, and red grapefruit and then out to spread some ice melt.

(15,325 posts)Sleet for the late a.m. followed by 3 inches of snow just to top it off. So far the grid is still holding.
No one's going anywhere.

(38,958 posts)We had rain, then ice, then snow yesterday. Wind chill is zero currently and another day of snow ahead here in St. Louis, MO. Most everything is shut down. Ill start cleaning up this afternoon if it looks like it will be stopping.

decided to go out and take care of business since today was supposed to be very cold.
(and it is). But as soon as I got outside yesterday I was greeted with a very cold north
wind even if it wasn't snowing (yet). After a few stops here and there I headed farther
north in the city and the heavens poured down lots and lots of snow. At least after the
heavy snow started the wind died down.
I've seen this here before and it always makes me glad that I learned how to drive in
snow in Upper Michigan, South Dakota and Wisconsin. I saw a couple of fender-bender
accidents but I made it home OK and wrote an e-mail to my son in Canada asking if he
was ready to head for Cabo. He wrote back "Let's go"! But it'll warm up and the snow will
melt, at least for us.
Everybody stay safe!
Edit 1 to add that there's more snow forecast for today here and I have absolutely no
need or motivation to go outside!
Edit 2 to add that if it's going to snow here today it better get on with it since as of
8am we have mostly clear and sunny skies.
Edit 3 to add that here at 1pm our sky is now mostly cloudy with big fluffy snow clouds.

(25,816 posts)Nowhere near like the NM and Texas, etc are suffering but still, the coldest temps in a long
time. It's 4:30 am here and the temp is 18 and falling. I got up early and made a big fire
in the woodstove.

(1,166 posts)and my furnace is broken. Alas, space heaters just aren't cutting it.
I always thought that SE AZ was warmer than up here, but I guess not. I'm definitely grateful it's in the 20s and not the teens!

(54,370 posts)The Germans knew about it too. My dentist back in Dallas sent out an email blast canceling appointments for today and Friday. This one looks like a monster. If anyone sees Ted Cruz at an airport, you KNOW it's time to load up on firewood, water and edibles!
