Michael Floyd Wilson, who is also known by the moniker Pretty Boy Floyd, escaped from Central Mississippi Correctional Facility in Rankin County on Sunday.
On Sunday night, officials set up roadblocks at Monterey Road, the Outpost, and the railroad tracks in Rankin County, and had notified the sheriffs department to search the trailer park behind the prison.
Wilson, 51, is currently serving two life sentences for beating two men to death in Biloxi and Gulfport in 2014. In addition to those charges, he was also convicted in two burglaries and for possession of a firearm by a convicted felon.

Inmate serving life escapes Rankin County prison
. . . U.S. marshals have joined the manhunt for Wilson who escaped Saturday from the Central Mississippi Correctional Facility on Highway 468. Leo Honeycutt, with the Mississippi Department of Corrections, said Wilson apparently cut himself on razor wire when he crawled over the fence and landed on his hip.
Wilson was spotted on Highway 49 in Richland by someone who saw that he was bleeding, Honeycutt said Wilson said he had been in a motorcycle wreck and was taken by a Pafford ambulance to the University of Mississippi Medical Center. Wilson left the hospital but was still bleeding. Richland police said he ended up at an O'Reilly's Auto Parts store in the city. He told employees there he had been in a car accident and was trying to find a nearby homeless shelter for the night. Employees were unable to find a shelter so they called police for help. Officers say Wilson gave them a fake name and social security number. They called an ambulance and he was taken back to UMMC, treated again and managed to walk out of the hospital, Honeycutt said.
Commissioner Burl Cain said there are several employees are on administrative leave pending disciplinary action including management as the investigation continues.
Wilson is also known as "Pretty Boy Floyd." He was serving two life sentences for beating two men to death in 2014. His other convictions include burglary and possession of a firearm by a convicted felon.

And why the hell wasn't a double murderer in Parchman instead of CMCF?

(16,858 posts)He was a very violent criminal! I thought they put all of those in Parchman, but I guess Parchman must be getting too crowded. I've known people who were sent there for nonviolent crimes, though, so I don't know what their criteria are anymore for sending criminals to the state's most notorious prison. Some people had better be getting fired over this.
