1. It might be an assumption that his Generals don't support him.

5. Everyone is under Putin's thumb
He established a relationship with the Russian mafia (former KGB) and uses them as muscle, punishers.
No one is going to stick their head out especially now. |

7. I don't think it will be easy to kill the little cockroach.
Even the few who have access to him would have a hard time assassinating him.
Putin is a former KGB foreign intelligence officer. I bet he is armed at all times. Many have suggested that his odd walk, holding his right arm next to his side, is due to illness. It could also indicate decades of carrying a weapon. KGB officers are trained to always keep their dominant (shooting) arm next to the body for quick access to a weapon. And he is so paranoid, I bet he has other means to protect himself and he keeps them handy. A bomb might be the only way to take him out, and his ridiculously long table is probably designed to help mitigate the affects of a bomb. I don't know if anyone could get close enough to him to poison him. Tyrants don't throw their enemies out of windows and poison them and NOT have a plan to protect themselves from the same fate. |

11. I want to see 100s of 1000's of Russians take to the streets in Russian cities large and small
Time for another Russian revolution. It's happened before. Twice. It could happen again.

9. Interesting
Because the generals are as deep in the shit as he is! They sent their troops into combat with shit equipment, little to no logistical support, and according to rumors the wounded are being killed by their officers and NCO's.
If Putin goes down...the generals know that they'll go down with him...maybe not immediately but at some point they will!!! Add in his hand picked bodyguard, the fact that no one gets into his inner sanctum with a weapon and that he sits far enough away from them...that there is no way an assassin could even reach him |

12. Any General who is willing to do the job
... has to be willing to die in the process. That's probably the only way it can happen.

15. One does not become head of the KGB
(FSB if you prefer, six of one-half dozen of the other) by being a coward. Also reach such position requires having unsavory allies and a high quantity of paranoia of both enemies and said allies.
Only one who is suicidal or believes they have enough support would make the attempt. As for the generals and what can he do? He can have them and their families killed- or worse |
