(11,752 posts)During the public speaking portion of any city council, county BOS, etc... meeting people have a right to public comment. The only thing that is not allowed is direct threats to the safety of members or the public, or things like inciting violence.
I have been to many council meeting and BOS meetings and you find out quickly which of your neighbors and community members are absolutely "Nuts". The members just have to sit and listen. There is a time limit on statements however.

(11,752 posts)Most government entities also now have "transparency" laws which make it mandatory that their proceedings be recorded or streamed over public access channels so that members of the community can stay informed about government proceedings.
I do not disagree with your assessment of the guy, nor the problem of platforming. I am merely stating the challenges faced by public officials with regards to preventing this sort of stupidity.

Reading about stuff like this or our "dangerous invasion of swamp rats" or some such, I just end up giggling madly.

(38,019 posts)The guy who followed him was almost as ridiculous. Also the bad rapper is some local wingnut conspiracy jerk who occasionally spouts liberal ideas to be ironic, but mostly he's just a sexist, racist homophobe.
