The observation is anecdotal, what I saw while out and about.
The Maryland Democratic legislature and Maryland Republican governor worked together to suspend the state's $0.364/gal gas tax.
This will last for a month. The Democratic state comptroller would like the power to extend it on an incremental basis, maybe a month at a time.
Being the savvy consumer I am, I filled my cars up juuuuust before the tax moratorium was under discussion. As little as I drive, it might be possible to get benefit of the cut once, maybe twice in the next month.
