http://hosted.ap.org/dynamic/stories/U/US_OBAMACARE_DILEMMA?SITE=AP&SECTION=HOME&TEMPLATE=DEFAULT&CTIME=2012-10-28-07-59-29WASHINGTON (AP) -- You'd think health insurance CEOs would be chilling the bubbly with Republican Mitt Romney's improved election prospects, but instead they're in a quandary.
Although the industry hates parts of President Barack Obama's health care law, major outfits such as UnitedHealth Group and BlueCross Blue Shield also stand to rake in billions of dollars from new customers who'll get health insurance under the law. The companies already have invested tens of millions to carry it out.
Were Romney elected, insurers would be in for months of uncertainty as his administration gets used to Washington and tries to make good on his promise repeal Obama's law. Simultaneously, federal and state bureaucrats and the health care industry would face a rush of legal deadlines for putting into place the major pieces of what Republicans deride as "Obamacare."
Would they follow the law on the books or the one in the works? What would federal courts tell them to do?

(1,663 posts)A conservative Supreme Court and they will not have enough congressional votes to overturn the law. Another example of lying and delusional republicans. They have really become the party of nuts. At best they can slow down the implementation or offer horrible exchange plans and they would suffer a tremendous backlash.

(26,045 posts)...and I'm sure a handful of Senate Blue Dogs will "heed the will of the people" and go along with repeal.
Besides, if a President Romney couldn't get the law repealed, he'd simply strip all funding for it from the budget, killing it that way.

(1,663 posts)I just don't think they will make the needed number to overturn. Instead they will attempt to gut the program just like have tried to chip away at the rights of women, civil rights, and social programs. When they can't outright win then they defund and delay.

(50,562 posts)The Republican minority has blocked so many Democratic bills, one of two things would happen:
A majority-D Senate would declare Romney's entire agenda dead on arrival.
A minority-D Senate with more than 40 Democrats in it would become a bunch of filibustering fools.
There aren't enough Democratic seats in play to give Romney the filibuster-proof Senate he needs.b
