He's put them in such shitty conditions that a branch of the military is trying to form a union.
What complete disrespect and disregard for the men and women who serve our state in moments of crisis. Even a made up crisis like the undocumented immigration at the border requires having a capacity to carry out normal organizational duties, like decent housing, food, and living conditions.
This man is so pathetic.

(58,706 posts)People complain about teacher's unions all the time. My question is always: How did our treatment of teachers get so bad that they felt the need to unionize?
This situation sounds pretty similar. Repub motto seems to be "Floggings will continue until morale improves."

And: The American Federation of Teachers (AFT) is the second largest teacher's labor union in America (the largest being the National Education Association). The union was founded in Chicago in 1916 with Margaret Haley credited as its founder and first leader.

(15,149 posts)I find it astounding that Texas voters (not an exclusive of that fine state) will consider putting an odious creep like Abbott back in office. "Well, at least he's not a Democrat." At some point, is there no consideration for the fact that this man is really shitty at his job?

(8,844 posts)that his Republican Voters are so weird, they don't realize he is screwing them over as much as the Dems.
That is true across the entire country. Most of all I can't figure that out.
As James Carville said election night 2016, laughing hard: Those Republican Voters are going to learn their votes have consequences.
I guess after four years of Trump and the other Republican Politicians, they still have not learned a single F****ing thing.....
I figured the screwing that all Texans took during that major freeze, would flip them 180. I guess I am not good at guessing......
However, I have noticed the number one, out of state license plates on Colorado roads are for the first time ever, TEXAS plates....
I sure as hell hope they don't come here and start voting in more Republican, Bang-Bang Boeberts, and other trailer trash Barbees and Republican Ken Dolls.........They should all go to C. Springs to live, they will all feel right at home down there!!!!!!!

(9,169 posts)I'm not sure they would be allowed to strike or walkout to improve their conditions.
Heck, the Texas Lege will probably quickly pass a law to try to prevent them from unionizing in the first place.
That would be a violation of the National Labor Relations Act, but the dubious legality of a particular piece of legislation rarely prevents it from being passed in Texas.
