Maskhole removed from Southwest flight out of Dallas, compares herself to Rosa Parks and Anne Frank

DALLAS (CBSDFW.COM) – A Southwest Airlines flight out of Dallas Love Field Wednesday, March 30, was delayed after a passenger on board refused to wear a mask.

Before she was taken off the plane, she compared herself to Rosa Parks and Anne Frank.

“It probably didn’t make sense for Rosa either. It probably didn’t make sense for Anne Frank either.. We have to take a stand.”

No, it isn't all about you and getting 10 minutes of attention for a drama show. Grow back up like you were taught in kindergarten and join society, you'll find it a lot less stressful and more enjoyable. People around you may also start to genuinely like you again too. You'll like that better than the artificial pit of despair you've made for yourself.

These MAGA-heroes need to be taught civility, place in line, the common good, reasonable behavior, and a lesson.

The maskless put the rest of us at risk. Airline seats are cramped and crowded. Germs are easily transmitted (I’ve caught at least two colds from unmasked a$$-hats) and I do not want your gift that keeps on giving.

It would have satisfied her selfish need for attention.

with maskholes. Reading this story today affirms my decision to book United for an upcoming flight to a city SW also serves. Corporate travel app kept trying to push me to choose a SW flight because $$$$, but I had two very nice on-time flights on United last week with everyone peacefully wearing their masks. First venture back into business travel - I was a road warrior until the pandemic. Now I am reminded that the maskholes are still out there.

It's like they say and do these things just to get likes on social media even though the rest of us who live in sane America are pissed at them. If I was on that flight I know I would be.

Anne Frank was heroic in her humanity and strength in the face of serious danger, but the reality is that she did not "take a stand". She simply hid with her family. We pay attention to the story because it is so human, hopeful, and it reflects the good (the Frank family) and the evil (the Nazis) that humanity is capable of.

Rosa Parks, unknown to many because American history is so poorly taught, was an activist. She has been trained, and she had been arrested before. She was brave and heroic in her efforts, but she wasn't just some tired domestic worker who had "had enough" one day. Her refusal was a premeditated act of civil disobedience against a policy that put a WHOLE GROUP of people, people who were the PREDOMINANT USERS of the busses in Montgomery at the mercy of any White person who wanted to take their seat. For the mere fact that they were Black and Whites were considered superior.

In an airplane, you are stuck with a hundred or more other passengers, who may have a highly transmissible respiratory disease that have already killed almost 1,000,000 people in the US. Putting on a mask is a simple, relatively harmless, and effective way to minimize the spread of this disease. It is a public safety measure and it is the most prosocial thing that people can do. This person was not only selfish, but wrong in her examples. Rosa Parks took a stand against a long standing, unjust, policy that was enacted to enforce and protect WHITE SUPREMACY. It made PERFECT SENSE and Rosa Parks understood exactly what she was doing.
