Bill? I haven't seen Democrats touting any projects. I have seen a few times where Republicans have taken credit for things that they voted against though.

(19,073 posts)We're in the middle of the best economy in US history by most metrics, but all they talk about is Inflation. Dems should be talking about the best jobs growth in our nation's history, the best GDP growth in 40 years, and the best wage growth in decades, but they seem to only talk about Inflation too.
The bipartisan infrastructure bill was huge and does so much good for the country and they rarely talk about that.

(43,422 posts)and Sinema (and their Rethug buddies) gutted the hell out of it. Out of Biden's original $2.6 trillion framework in new spend, they ripped out around 80%, leaving only $550 billion in new spend, spread out over 10 years. The other $650 billion was simply renewals of pre-existing programmes (mostly transportation related) that have been on the books for years, under Trump, Obama, etc.
That $550 billion in new spend is, when measured per year (so $55billion X 10), less than 1% of all federal monies spent per year lately.
The Infrastructure Plan: Whats In and Whats Out
Biden's original plan:
What was left after they took a 2+ trillion USD hatchet to it
When you also add in the 100% block (so far) of Biden's BBB Act, Manchin and/or Sinema have gutted over 90% of Biden's framework new spend proposals for the BIF and the BBB, not to mention blocking all the oh-so-crucial voter bills.
But hey, we can just re-start the 100+ reply-long threads about meaningless protest votes by a very tiny handful of progs (that blocked NOTHING from passing I might add).
