... only because I'd spend the night sometimes with a childhood friend who only had that kind of stuff for breakfast. Then we might eat some Pop-Tarts too, to strain our pancreas even more. Followed by hyperactivity and then a sudden crash in energy.

My mother wouldn't allow that kind of food in her household, and now I'm grateful. I kind of resented the lack of those sugary foods as a little kid.

If "Hot Pockets" existed back then, my guess is that their parents would've made those the "healthier" part of their children's breakfasts. Whatever was fast and easy.
