Why Can't WE Stop Putin From INterfering In Our Elections?

All the analysts/pundits are hair on fire about the next election.

What the hell, is what I think every time I hear this. I want to know why we can't put a stop to any such effort.
WE have geniuses. AS smart and certainly smarter than those criminals.

People wonder how it could happen? I’m just talking in general terms.

The fall doesn’t happen overnight. There is a long period beforehand where a larger and larger percent of a population become demoralized. With that comes a certain level of apathy.

Regulating social media as publishers, rather than platforms. Make Facebook liable for the misinformation it publishes, and Russia’s influence in the next election would plummet.

Of course, that would require killing the filibuster, and ovtaining the votes of Manchin and Sinema, so…

“Why does this history matter now? Because acknowledging it begs a question that few American pundits and politicians have answered yet: Is the problem with Russia’s behavior in 2016 that it violated principles of noninterference in other countries’ elections that America should respect as well? Or is the problem simply that America’s ox was gored?

Keep them offline. I am concerned about Republicans getting access to the machines before, during or after the election, especially in certain states. Maybe the US should ask for foreign observers. I will come down from Canada and I think many volunteers from around the world would happily keep an eye on things.
