Given that Mariupol must be evacuated... question:

Why couldn't a contingency of UN and NATO officials have gathered in Mariupol -- preferably people with evacuation experience -- and literally coordinated and escorted those people out? Would Russians have stopped them? Sense they wouldn't have. We all need to step up and show we have the courage to stop Putin.

Confronting the Russian effort would fully display that the majority of people in this world will not tolerate wholesale murder. Cannot stand by and permit another holocaust. Otherwise, the Putins of this world will continue their maltreatment when and wherever they choose.

to the Russians. I believe Putin would back down. He's a bluffing con artist like Trump.

And, if by any miracle they would, how would they get back with thousands of Ukranians accompanying them? And what would they do if Russians slaughter every Ukrainian around them, but not them?

would say to Putin that he must stop his invasion until Mariupol was evacuated. If Putin refused, it would cement the fact that he is an inhumane POS. And there's always the chance that Putin would allow it. As things stand now. these people are dead. To have no strategy makes the US look weak and ineffective -- not the greatest power in the world. And I'm a pacifist.
