Because he saw what the common man did and sacrificed to win WW2, he repaid them with liberal, progressive policies that invested in jobs. See the 1996 Republican Platform (something Republicans, today, don't do anymore.....Because they don't believe in anything).

Some falsely denied that Trump is a republican...
But now the cult has fallen in line and adores him.
Selected/nominated as a republican at the republican convention.
Ran as a republican.
Elected as a republican by the EC.
Acknowledged as the republican leader.
Certainly not an old style republican with morals, honor, ethics and integrity.
Those folks are gone.
But he's a republican.
